How to get there
Getting to Harbor Island is the start of your adventure! The standard route is to fly into Portland (PWM) and enjoy the drive up the coastal Route 1, then pass through the heart of Acadia National Park to arrive at Bass Harbor. Alternatively, you can fly into Bangor (BGR) and commute to Bass Harbor.From Bass Harbor, you’ll hop on the ferry over to Swan’s Island (we’ll keep the official ferry schedule updated here on the site!). Once you disembark on Swan’s, we help you across the island to Burnt Coat Harbor, where a quick tender boat ride will bring you right onto Harbor Island.
